REVIEW - EDDY MITCHELL: GRAND ECRAN

One country's icons aren’t necessarily palatable elsewhere, and so it is for Eddy Mitchell. Some of his early rock ‘n’ roll with Les Chausettes Noires is great fun, unfettered and worth hearing. Some of his mid to late ‘60s stuff is great too: like a Gallic Tom Jones. But otherwise and elsewhere, for the non-French, he’s hard going.

Equally, his recent album of covers of songs from films is a pretty tough listen. Review here: http://www.rockfort.info/content.aspx?cid=219
